A new kind of obstacle course What truly sets Athletic Park apart is its innovative obstacle course, a concept that blends traditional athletics with playful, challenging and visually striking elements. Through the ESWAM, Bacău was connected with the Danish landscape architecture firm Keingart, the designers behind the renowned Athletic Exploratorium in Odense. Rather than simply replicating the Danish concept, Keingart worked with the city to develop a park tailored to Bacău's own ambitions and identity. The result is a unique destination where athletics, play and public space come together, demonstrating how European knowledge exchange can translate inspiration into tangible urban transformation.
The project also illustrates how investment in sports infrastructure can contribute to wider urban ambitions.
