Suppama provides municipalities with a turnkey solution to activate waterfront public spaces with premium self-service paddleboard rentals. By integrating a marketplace model with local instructors, municipalities can increase safety, community engagement, and accessibility, all while promoting sustainable outdoor recreation. Whether through direct purchase, leasing, or revenue-sharing partnerships, cities can create a vibrant, active, and well-managed waterfront experience for their citizens.

What is your pricing model?

Suppama offers municipalities flexible models to activate public spaces with premium self-service paddleboard rentals:

One-time purchase – Franchise Model: Municipalities can purchase Suppama stations outright and operate them as franchise locations. Suppama provides ongoing software updates, support and maintenance tools for a small percentage of revenue. This option ensures full ownership while benefiting from a proven business model and technology support.

Lease Model – Financing Option: Municipalities can lease stations through a local equipment financing company or bank over a 5-year term. This option reduces upfront costs while making high-quality equipment accessible.

Revenue Share Model – Public-Private Partnership: Suppama and the municipality cooperate under a revenue-sharing agreement. The city provides the space and infrastructure and Suppama handles the operation, maintenance, and technology. This option allows municipalities to offer recreational services with minimal investment while generating revenue.

All models ensure premium equipment, seamless technology integration and an engaging user experience. Additionally, Suppama’s marketplace allows municipalities to involve local instructors to host community events, increasing engagement and promoting safe use of the stations.

Do you work with annual maintenance and/or operational costs?

Yes. Suppama offers municipalities an annual maintenance plan to ensure safety, reliability, andlongevity of the equipment. Municipalities can:

Self-manage maintenance following Suppama’s guidelines. Opt for Suppama’s service plan, which includes regular safety checks, software updates, andequipment servicing.

Partner with local instructors who can help oversee the condition of the equipment through daily engagement.

This approach ensures municipalities can efficiently manage costs while providing high-quality recreational opportunities.

Who is responsible for repairs, replacements and long-term servicing?

In the one-time purchase model, municipalities handle servicing, but Suppama offers spare parts, remote support, and repair services. For leased stations, financing providers may offer servicing agreements, or municipalities can subscribe to Suppama’s maintenance package. In the revenue share model, Suppama assumes full responsibility for servicing, ensuring hassle-free management for municipalities. By offering multiple service options, municipalities can choose the best model for their resources.

How do users access the equipment?

Users scan a QR code at the station, which navigates them to the Suppama web app for easy access. Dedicated mobile apps for iOS and Android are also available for a seamless booking experience. The app manages bookings, payments, safety waivers, and equipment tracking. Users cannot open the locker doors without signing the liability waiver, ensuring safety compliance. Municipalities can offer free or discounted access via promo codes, making paddleboarding more inclusive.
